What You Need:

Wild Caught Tuna: I like to buy the tuna from Aldi. It is wild caught and is only $1.18 a can.

Almond Flour: My favorite brand of almond flour is Blue Diamond Almond Flour. It is super fine which means no grittiness in the final product.

Seasonings: You will need garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley flakes, red chili flakes, and sea salt. Save money on spices by buying them in bulk.

Coconut oil: You can use any type of oil suitable for frying, but my favorite is expeller pressed coconut oil. It is a healthy fat, affordable, and has zero coconut flavor.

Eggs: Eggs help bind the patties together. Try to find farm fresh eggs if at all possible.

How To Make Tuna Patties

First drain the tuna and place it in a medium size mixing bowl and then add the almond flour, eggs, and seasonings. Use your hands to mix it all together thoroughly.

Next shape the tuna mixture into a log, cut the log in half with your hands. Use half of the log and break it apart into 5 equal balls. Flatten the ball in your hands, making a patty shape.

Preheat a large cast iron skillet on medium high heat. Add two tablespoons of coconut oil.

Afterward place the patties into the skillet and cook for 4 minutes.

Flip the patties over when golden brown on the bottom. Cook for 4 more minutes. Place patties on a paper towel lined plate and repeat the process with the remaining patties. Enjoy!
